Reviews on books–although they will be not so much reviews as unstructured reflections on the content and lessons drawn from books that I have just finished reading. I’ll probably judge a book on how well it helps me understand processes of political economy and revolutionary strategy.

[Book Review] Revolutionary Iran: The History of the Islamic Republic (2013)

“Revolutionary Iran” gives a very good overview of modern Iranian history and the internal ideological struggles of the post-revolution elites–but lacks any real detail about the political economy or the class dynamics of post-revolution Iran.
